Second: $ CA 15 Diplomas are also issued for creditable performance. The Canadian branch of the Charles Owor Foundation awards all the above prizes. All essays graded over 75% are included/printed in the Charles Owor Foundation's Essay Magazine. The magazine will be circulated to schools in Uganda. CHARLES OWOR FOUNDATION ESSAY COMPETITION COMPETITION RULES - 2002-031. The competition is organised in four age "Class" with prizes in each awarded on the advise of a panel of external examiners. The ages are assessed as at 31 December, 2002, and the number of words allowed per essay are as follows:Class A, for entrant's aged 16 -18 years: 1500 - 2000 words Class B, for entrant's aged 14 -15 years: 1200 - 1500 words Class C, for entrant's aged 12 -13 years: 500 - 700 words Class D, for entrant's aged 11 and under: 300 - 600 words Essays are not to exceed the specified maximum number of words. 2. All essays must be written in English and must be submitted through the writer's school. American spelling is NOT acceptable. 3. No entrant may submit more than one essay.
