He said Owor was a leading legal counsel to the commission and that his desire and vision was clean democracy and politics free from bribery. Akabway challenged politicians to avoid corruption. The chairman of the Electoral Commission, Aziz Kasujja, said death has robbed Uganda of a young and brilliant person. Gulu municipality MP Nobert Mao urged Christians to join politics to replace dirty politicians with clean ones. "It was his Christianity that shaped even his political views," Mao said. The chairman of the Acholi parliamentary group, Abednego Ongom said Owor died young and that he still had a lot to offer to this country. "Death is a poor harvester. It reaps even those who are not ready. The people of Acholi, the church and the whole country still needed him," Ongom said.
